Ingredients

  • 4-5 c Ripe Pears peeled, cored and sliced
  • 4-5 c Apples peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1/2 c Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 c Flour
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • pinch Salt

FOR THE TOPPING:

  • 1 c Flour
  • 3/4 c Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 c Vegan Margarine cubed
  • 1 c Oats
  • Chopped Nuts such as Pecans or Walnuts OPTIONAL

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare a baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Combine all of the filling ingredients and evenly distribute into your baking dish.
  • To make the topping, simply combine the flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon with a whisk. 
  • Using a pastry blender or two forks, cut the vegan margarine into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.  Add the oats (and nuts, if using).  Sprinkle over the filling.
  • Bake for about 40 minutes or until the topping is golden and the juices are bubbling.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.
