In the bowl of your electric mixer, add the warm (not hot) water at about 104-115 degrees Fahrenheit, then add the yeast and a small amount of the sugar. Give it a stir and allow to sit for 10 minutes or until it activates or gets bubbly.
Now add the rest of the sugar, the salt and the flour. Beat on medium until it forms a soft dough, about 3 minutes.
Lightly flour your board and knead by hand until smooth, about 6 minutes.
Place in a bowl that you have greased with oil and toss it once. Cover and allow to rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Knock down the risen dough and divide into loaves as best you can. The full recipe makes 4 loaves.
Cover and allow to rise for 30 minutes. Then, using a sharp knife, shallowly score the tops of each loaf.
Bake at 400 degrees until golden, about 20-25 minutes.
