It’s been awhile since I have done a review on a vegan protein powder and that’s because until now, I had been a little underwhelmed. When I was approached by PURE PROTEIN® to review their new Super Food Vegan Powders, I was really excited to try them! Spoiler alert: the vanilla has just become my ‘go to’ protein powder. Yay, we have a winner!
In addition to vanilla bean, the Pure Protein® Super Food powders also come in Dark Cocoa and Mixed Berry Super Fruits. Stay tuned, I’m working on recipes for those as well.
I wanted to show you WHY I love this powder so much. Aside from the complete proteins being derived from 100% plant based sources, their non-GMO formula contains naturally sourced super fruits. No soy or dairy and is free of artificial flavors and sweeteners. When I opened the container and smelled, I immediately knew this one had potential.
It’s so finely milled, you don’t get even the slightest hint of grainy texture you may find in other brands.
But for me, the proof really is in the pudding…or smoothie. Today, I’m whipping up a super easy Coffee Smoothie. This made a little over two 8 ounce glasses but feel free to double the recipe.
The ingredients are fresh brewed (and cooled) coffee, ice, almond milk, a banana and anywhere from a half scoop to a full scoop of the vanilla bean powder. You could also choose to add a sweetener, such as agave.
I did find the powders available on Amazon, but the new flavors should come available wherever PURE PROTEIN® products are sold.
I topped the smoothies with a few coffee beans for photography purposes only, but cacao nibs would be amazing here.

Vegan Coffee Smoothies with PURE PROTEIN
Ingredients
- 1 c Almond Milk
- 1/2 Frozen Banana
- 1/2 - 1 scoop Pure Protein Vanilla Bean Powder
- 1/2 c Brewed Coffee cooled
- 1 c Ice Cubes
- Cacao Nibs OPTIONAL
Instructions
- Blend all ingredients together until completely smooth. Add more almond milk to thin if necessary. Makes enough for two 8 ounce servings.
