This rich and creamy Vegan Peppermint White Hot Chocolate is the perfect recipe this holiday season and comes together in just minutes. It’s so festive and literally made with just a saucepan and handful of ingredients. Your guests will be totally impressed!
The ingredients required to make this recipe include:
Unsweetened Almond Milk
Vegan White Chocolate Chips
And the toppings of your choosing such as vegan whipped topping, sparkling sugar and of course, peppermints
How to make Vegan Peppermint White Hot Chocolate
The first step is to warm the almond milk in a small saucepan over low heat. This recipe makes a generous serving for two people, but feel free to double or even triple the recipe!
Once the milk is warm, add the white chocolate chips. They will take about 10 minutes to melt, so don’t rush it.
If you can’t find vegan white chocolate chips in your local store, try Amazon.com I find a lot of my vegan items there!
Once the white chocolate chips are completely melted, remove from the heat and add the vanilla extract.
Pour into your serving glass and top with vegan whipped topping. Many non-dairy whipped creams are what I like to call “accidentally vegan” which is great because there is such a selection out there these days. I like the SO Delicious brand, but any will work. Pile it on high 🙂
This is an optional but fun and Christmas-y step. A dusting of sparking sugar makes it feel like snow.
Last, but certainly not least, I crush up vegan peppermint candies (or candy canes) and sprinkle them on top. The fun part of this hot drink is that they will begin to sink and flavor the almond milk. The whipped topping begins to foam and melt and the whole drink is just creamy and dreamy. I just know you’ll love it as much as I do.
