This recipe for Easy Sautéed Cinnamon Apples takes just minutes to prepare and can be served in a multitude of ways. Today, we chose a vegan vanilla bean ice cream and topped with the warm apples. A truly decedent dessert if ever there was one! Let me show you how to make it.

Ingredients you’ll need to make this recipe:
- 2 large Apples, I chose Fuji or Gala
- 1/3 cup Water, or apple juice/apple cider if you have it
- 1 tbsp Brown Sugar, light or dark (although the dark contains molasses, which will alter the taste slightly)
- 1 1/2 tsp Cornstarch
- 3/4 tsp Cinnamon, or more to taste

How to make Easy Sautéed Cinnamon Apples
The first step is to peel, core and slice the apples. You can squeeze a bit of lemon juice on them to keep them from oxidizing – or just work quickly 🙂
I chose wedges, but diced also works and cooks even more quickly.

Place the apples into the sauce pan with either water or juice, if you have it. Cook for about five minutes to get the cooking started.

Add the cinnamon and continue cooking for a few more minutes.

Add the cornstarch to thicken. This step is optional but highly recommended. It makes a thick and rich syrup that is truly heavenly over the ice cream.

Remove the apples from the heat and add a bit of vanilla extract.

It should look like this. Cool slightly before enjoying as that sugar syrup is HOT!

I added a scoop of my favorite vegan vanilla bean ice cream and topped with the apples. When the sugar syrup mixture hits the cold ice cream, it thicken to almost a caramel. SO good!
