Katie’s Stovetop Garlic Bread is drawn from the television show, The Kitchen where Katie Lee made this bread. It was so interesting, I just had to give it a try. I had never seen garlic bread made in this manner before. They turned out really delicious. We used olive oil but it imparts that olive flavor, so feel free to opt for a more neutral-flavored vegetable oil if you prefer. Let me show you how to make it.

How to make Katie’s Stovetop Garlic Bread
As mentioned above, we used olive oil just like Katie did on the show. In hindsight, I might have chosen a more neutral flavored oil. You’ll also be using butter (or vegan margarine).

Once melted, add minced garlic or garlic powder to taste.

I’m using a baguette that I sliced lengthwise and then into strips. Depending on the size of the baguette, you’ll get 8-12 strips.

Place the strips down into the oil and butter mixture, giving it a press so that the bread absorbs the mixture. Allow to cook untouched until golden brown, about three minutes or so over medium high heat.
I cannot recall if Katie flipped hers to cook on the second side, but I did for a minute or so.

Don’t these look amazing? They are crisp and browned on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. I just loved them. Our family devoured them all.

Here’s a closer look at that texture.
