This Easy Cocoa Powder Brownie Bites recipe is so simple to make and is even more fun when baked in a brownie pan. We found this brownie bites pan on Amazon, but feel free to use your standard 8″ square baking pan for a thick brownie or a 9×13 for a traditional brownie and cut them into individual servings. Top with your favorite vegan vanilla ice cream and of course, a drizzle of chocolate syrup. We serve ours warm so that ice cream begins to melt. Let me show you how I make them.

- Vegan Margarine, melted
- Salt
- Vanilla Extract
- Vegan Egg Replacer (or egg if you are vegetarian)
- All Purpose Flour
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- Baking Powder
- Granulated Sugar
How to make Easy Cocoa Powder Brownie Bites
Combine vegan margarine, sugar and vanilla extract in the bowl of an electric mixer. You can also do this by hand if you prefer. Add the egg replacer (or egg if you are using it) and beat well to combine.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Add to the wet mixture, beating until just combined.
Regardless of which pan you choose, you’ll want to give it a good spray with non stick cooking spray to ensure that you can get them out. Alternately, if you are using an 8″ square baking pan, you could opt to line with parchment paper.
The batter is thick, so you’ll want to spread them a bit so they bake evenly.
Bake at 350 degrees until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. The cooking time will vary if you use the brownie bites pan. For an 8″ baking pan, this could take upwards of 40 minutes.
The brownie bites sink in the middle and create the perfect little indentation for our vegan vanilla ice cream! Allow them to cool slightly before serving or your ice cream will melt quickly.

Easy Cocoa Powder Brownie Bites Recipe
Ingredients
- 3/4 c Vegan Margarine melted
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 3 large Eggs OR VEGAN EGG REPLACER equal to 3 large eggs
- 3/4 c All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 c Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 1/2 c Granulated Sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and either spray or line your baking pan of choice.
- Cream together vegan margarine, sugar and vanilla in the bowl of an electric mixer.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. Add to the wet ingredients and beat until just combine.
- Spread batter into desired baking pan.
- If using an 8" baking pan, these will be thick brownies and take about 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes clean. If using a brownie bites pan, start checking around 15 to 20 minutes.
- Cool slightly before serving with a scoop of your favorite vegan vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
